APM South Wales and West of England Network: From Chaos to Control: Applying Agility in the Corporate World

What make a project truly successful? The Standish Group’s CHAOS report into the technical success factors for software development projects is a good start, but there are other more important factors for real project success. Join us to find out more.

This event explores what truly makes projects successful, using insights from the well-known CHAOS Report as a starting point. While traditional thinking often focuses on tools, processes and detailed planning. The evidence consistently highlights the critical role of people, collaboration and clear purpose. Gareth and Alan will share a practical perspective on why so many projects struggle and what differentiates those that succeed.

Drawing on real-world experience in Agile environments, this talk will unpack key success factors such as stakeholder engagement, strong communication, empowered teams and the ability to adapt to change. Rather than focusing on rigid frameworks, Gareth and Alan will emphasise a pragmatic, people-first approach to delivery showing how organisations can move beyond simply “doing Agile” to creating conditions where teams can thrive.

Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how to improve outcomes in their own projects by focusing on what really matters.
