Real World Project Management Webinar - Setting up Projects for Successful Outcomes
Between 80% to 90% of projects fail to meet their original objectives, expectations and plans. The question is ‘Why is this occurring?’ Most of this can be traced back to how the project was set up in the first place.
30% of projects currently go at least 50% over budget and, in some cases, run years late against their schedule, along with experiencing major quality issues and other failures.
Between 75% to 85% of all projects fail to meet their original objectives, expectations and plans. The question is: ‘Why is this occurring?’ Most of the issues can be traced back to how the project was set up in the first place. At least 75% of all projects completely fail to meet stakeholder expectations. This should not be acceptable. The challenge is due to a ‘VUCA’ world in which volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity are increasing exponentially, meaning that project managers and directors, especially in the development stage of a project, need to think and perform differently. Two key reasons for the current performance issues are the project setup and framing process, and the competency requirements within the project teams for tomorrow’s challenges.
This webinar looks firstly at what are the critical elements for world class project delivery. It then explores how projects should be framed better as, from analysis, many focus only on engineering and commercial skills. Finally, how to risk assess and analyse the project are covered, showing how different alternatives can be considered and effective strategies put in place to mitigate forward threats and capitalise on potential opportunities, leading to a risk profile that is acceptable for decision making. We will show how you can produce, with confidence project execution plans that deliver, or even exceed, benchmarked performance.
