APM Enabling Change and APM London Networks: What works in Change and Transformation: Practical lessons for 2027
Organisations across sectors continue to invest heavily in transformation, digital change, AI, operating model redesign and major programmes. Yet the same delivery challenges often reappear: momentum slows, sponsorship becomes unclear, stakeholders disengage, governance becomes reactive and intended benefits are harder to realise.
We are bringing together experienced practitioners from across government major projects, infrastructure, financial services, health and life sciences, higher education, technology and enterprise transformation to explore what they have learned from leading, assuring and delivering change in complex environments.
The panel will draw on practical experience from large-scale programmes, regulated organisations, digital transformation, programme recovery, organisational change and AI-enabled delivery. Rather than focusing on a single framework, the conversation will examine the recurring conditions that help change succeed across different industries.
Panellists will explore the role of sponsorship and leadership, governance and assurance, stakeholder adoption, organisational readiness and the growing importance of human judgement as technology reshapes project delivery.
The session will also consider what lessons can transfer between sectors. What can a programme leader in infrastructure learn from transformation in banking? What can public-sector and higher education projects teach corporate transformation teams about adoption? And which leadership behaviours consistently make the difference when delivery becomes difficult?
