APM North East Network: Mission Possible
Maximise your engagement and alignment with the APM theme for the 3rd quarter of 2026/27 (Oct-Dec) “Mission Possible” through an evening with “The Rock Star of Business Education" Eddie Obeng.
In a dynamic and complex world, project success demands a mission-led culture for projects and organisations. While a razor-sharp focus on outputs and outcomes remains central to project success, flexibility, agility and responsiveness is needed to adapt to our uncertain and changing world. Organisations need to understand the strategic benefits they’re delivering while building their ability to adapt and pivot at a moment’s notice.
Mission: Possible explores how organisations can manage and adapt in the face of unrelenting and unpredictable complexity and uncertainty while delivering projects and programme benefits.
Known as a pioneer in transformation, design thinking and organisational agility, Eddie provides a no-nonsense overview about how traditional rules of doing business no longer apply while offering extensive guidance to reach new heights in fast-changing business environments. He is a regular speaker at TED, Thinking Digital, Poptech, Google Zeitgeist, USI, Communitech and Gartner Conferences.
Eddie will take the audience on a journey of healthy challenges to “the way things are done” and position members to take a more active role in shaping their own environments with a commitment to exploration and dialogue.
To position the talk to meet the challenges of participants Eddie would love everyone to pop in their hopes and fears for what is delivered on the day: https://qube.cc/TellProfObeng-HopesAndFears/

Professor Eddie Obeng - CEO, Pentacle The Virtual Business School
Professor Eddie Obeng is a British organisational theorist and educator best known in project management for categorising projects based on two variables: knowing what to do (the goal) and knowing how to do it (the method). His framework, often referred to as the "Obeng Model of Project Classification" or the "Fog Model," helps leaders select the correct management and leadership styles for an era where the pace of change outstrips traditional corporate planning. In 2011, Obeng received the prestigious Sir Monty Finniston Award from The Association for Project Management (APM) for his lifetime contributions to the field.
