Delivering Sustainable Transport Through an E-Bike Share Scheme: Lessons from Bradford Council

As Sustainable Delivery Manager at Bradford Council, I am leading the development and delivery of an e-bike share scheme designed to provide residents and visitors with a convenient, affordable, and low-carbon travel option. The project forms part of the Council's wider ambitions to reduce transport emissions, improve air quality, encourage active travel, and support sustainable economic growth across the district.

Alena Horvathova is a Sustainable Delivery Manager at Bradford Council with a background in transformation, service improvement, and project and programme delivery within local government. Her experience spans organisational change initiatives and the delivery of complex projects that support strategic priorities and long-term outcomes. Alena currently leads Bradford's E-bike Share Scheme, an innovative shared mobility service that promotes active travel, supports healthier lifestyles, and improves access to opportunities across the district.

She is passionate about creating positive change through projects that deliver lasting benefits for communities and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Dean Kilner - Project Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre

Dean is a Project Manager and has been at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre since 2022, working across multiple competencies including machining, casting, composites and automation. Dean currently leads the IHSS project, a multi-million pound collaborative grant funded project with Boeing and Loop Technology. IHSS will be the first project to use the COMPASS facility. Dean is also a volunteer for the Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire Network and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) stream lead.
